A Bit About Our Services and What to Expect
Casting a Light Psychotherapy offers compassionate, relational, trauma-informed, somatic therapy (yes, that’s a mouthful!). Our approach works at the pace of your slowest part, using inviting language and incorporating the mind, body, nervous system, and the therapeutic relationship into the work together.
At Casting a Light Psychotherapy, genuine care and human connection are paramount. Clients can expect sessions to be warm, collaborative, honest, empathetic, and non-judgmental. While therapy can sometimes be serious and heavy, there will also be moments of laughter and light-heartedness—after all, humor is an important part of healing!
We strive to create a safe and affirming space for people of all identities to work towards healing. The goal is to make people feel safe, seen, and heard so that they can heal and thrive. The practice is an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, culturally sensitive, Kink and Poly aware, inclusive of all faiths and races, and body and sex-positive.
In sessions, clients are always in the driver's seat, with the therapist as a supportive passenger helping to navigate. Suggestions and inviting interventions may be offered, but these are just that—invites. There will never be any consequences for saying “no” to trying something in session or as homework. Boundaries are encouraged and celebrated!
